In all modesty, upFront.eZine was going to be the first to announce what's new in ArchiCAD 17. We did the interview and demo last Friday, but logistics prevented the story running in yesterday's issue of the newsletter. Gosh, editors hate it when we lose an exclusive!
(I notice that Graphisoft, a division of Nemetschek, does not call itself "Nemetschek Graphisoft," the way that "Nemetschek Vectorworks" does.)
Anyhow, the big deal in 17 is details, with Graphisoft harnessingg multi-cores and background processing to automatically generate details of junctions (intersections of walls and floors), even slanted ones, through a new super attribute that prioritizes materials, so that the software knows which to trim and which does the trimming.
I hope to run the story on Graphisoft 17 when upFront.eZine returns from vacation on May 27. Meantime, here is the official page: www.graphisoft.com/archicad/archicad_17/overview.
