WikiHouse wants to create sets of downloadable dwelling designs for CNC-milled houses that can be assembled without connectors. The parts are interconnected, like cardboard cutout.
The introductory pages on the site promote a grand plan:
Click 'Make this House' from within Google Sketchup and WikiHouse will generate a complete set of milling drawings from your model, which can be used by a CNC cutter to fabricate the house parts.
It's just that simple. Some 1/6-scale models have been built. Problem is, the site doesn't have any plans that are structurally tested, and the most sophisticated model (version 3.0) looks like this:
So, not so building-industry destroying. The group is looking for a million in funding (as we all are), but there doesn't seem to be much going on at the site -- some designs, few comments.
