Bricscad V12 for Windows will ship on Monday, Oct 10. The Linux version will ship a month later.
Vondle will be renamed Chapoo Biz, and costs money. Chapoo is the personal version of Vondle for every V12 user to view, share, upload, and manage 50 file formats -- and they get 2GB free storage space (no subscription required). Files can be shared in Facebook, Twitter, email, or just copy the link.Works in Web browsers, so is OS independent.
The quad cursor was not the first attempt at creating an on-screen command selector. The first version used tooltips attached to grips: you could select a command from those displayed by the tooltip. However, Bricsys programmers found this unwieldy, and so came up with the quad cursor.
Despite being called the quad cursor, it has five parts. I s'pose "Pent Cursor" just doesn't sound as catchy.
I could not get Bricscad for Linux to run on VMware Player or Virtual Box when Linux Mint was the operating system. Torsten Moses suggested it the problem might lie with the dialect of Linux. I tried Ubuntu instead, and now Bricscad runs, no problem.
Versions of Chapoo are being developed for Android and iOS. We got to see screen grabs of the products under development. Currently view-only, but will add annotations to it. Screen grab of actual working version on Android below.
The name "chapoo" has no meaning, other than that it was not already taken by anyone else.
