Autodesk ceo Carl Bass last year said he would put more emphasis on bundles, and that we would see many more bundles of his software this year. Bundles have pros and cons: The customer gets more software for less money, but pays more overall; the vendor sells more seats, but makes less per seat.
A press release today announces eight bundles for the education market -- Autodesk calls them "suites" -- and include curricula:
- Education Master Suite 2011
- Education Suite for Architecture and Engineering 2011
- Education Suite for Civil and Structural Engineering 2011
- Education Suite for Entertainment Creation 2011
- Education Suite for Industrial Design 2011
- Education Suite for Mechanical Engineering 2011
The Master Suite throws 16 packages at you; perhaps it should be renamed the penthouse?
