Annoyed that your giant LCD tv is being obsoleted by the entertainment industry's drive to get you to buy a 3D monitor? I'm not, 'cause I still use a CRT tv. But here is an article that caught my eye:
Engaget writes about what it takes to convert existing 2D movies to 3D. In short, there is slow and high-quality conversion (like Alice in W-land) and fast and bad (Titans):
...Four to six hundred people while wearing 3D glasses 50 to 75 percent of the day, and costs about 80 to 100 thousand dollars per minute to do dimensionalization properly.
I think that was a mistake with engadget. I am calculating at 100,000 dollars per day, not per minute.

This 3D TV thing is absolutely ridiculous. Do they really think people are going to look at home movies with those silly glasses on their noses? Are we back in the fifties? What about all those people who wear prescription glasses (by choice or because they can't wear contacts)?
I saw Avatar in 3D, and honestly, unless I made a conscious effort to look for it, I simply forgot about the 3D effects after a few minutes.
Until they invent *real* 3D TV, that is holographic projectors, I'm sticking with 2D TV, thank you.
