This year, ASCON has decided to go bold by revealing real numbers -- not just relative percentages! ASCON is probably the largest Russian CAD vendor; I say "probably" because of the lack of hard data.
David Levin of Not Just Russian CAD/PLM reports on a press conference held earlier today by ASCON. In summary:
- 2009 revenues were approximately US$18 million (converted from Rubles), down 28% from the year before.
- 650 new customers; now 5,400 total.
- market split is 70%/30% MCAD/AEC.
- sales in Russia/elsewhere: 89%/11%.
For 2010, the company expects sales to remain at the same ("stagnant") level. The software release schedule is as follows:
May - KOMPAS-3D V12 (for MCAD) for Russian market.
July - KOMPAS-SPDS V12 (for AEC).
September - ASCON 2010 (integrated MCAD and AEC).
October - KOMPAS-3D V12 for international market.
