On the SWWX Show Floor: AMV

Attending SSWX from Italy, AMV has been around since 1985, and now has several thousand customers and 25 employees. Recently, it looked around for new opportunities and decided on metallic carpentry. As a result, they became the first company to create a steel design app running inside SolidWorks.  

At booth 207, AMV is showing us AMV Steelworks 2010 that lets multiple designers work on the same structural steel model. "We put an end to frustration by facilitating communication between the structural and mechanical departments," says AMV product manager Gabriele Meluzzi.

But even more interesting is the company's new link between SolidWorks and analysis software from Bentley Systems. The interoperability pack lets a SolidWorks SteelWorks model be managed as Bentley STAAD FEA model and vice versa.
