But what about CAD software...
...who will be the first CAD vendor to have their software running on the iPad and its unique CPU? (Randall Newton thinks maybe VectorWorks or ArchiCAD.)
...with iWorks priced at a mere $9.99 (and iPhone apps typically at $1.99), how cheap will CAD software have to be to fit in with Apple's ultra-low pricing model?
...which CAD vendor will update their software first to take advantage of the iPad's in-your-face touch screen -- or will they have to rewrite from scratch?
Bonjour,
It is not (yet) a CAD software but you have a vectorial draw software on the iPhone : iPocket Draw...
and so also on the iPad.

I'm no lover of the Apple religion, but I'm glad for this iPad product. Say what you will, Apple leads the market. I'm even surprised at the iPad's relatively affordable pricing.
I'm now waiting for competitors to provide similar tablets with Android OS... I would trade my 11.6" netbook for a slate any day. I don't need the keyboard much, and for ebook reading it gets in the way.
As for CAD apps for the iPad... How about QCad? It's already available for OS X, Linux, Solaris and FreeBSD. I guess it would be easy to compile it for ARM processors...
One app that would be cool to see on the iPad is Moment of Inspiration, but it's Windows only.

SitePAD is a CAD drawing application on the iPhone. It will work on the iPad, but there is an iPad version out soon! Check it out at www.sitepad.co.uk
