Latest is progeCAD and its international distributors (including icadsales.com of USA, CADDIT.net of Australia, and progeCAD Deutschland) are offering a buy-me-now-get-the-upgrade-free. Problem is, the offer from icadsales isn't clear to me:
... iCADsales.com is offering upgrades from progeCAD 2009 Professional to the new [2010] release for its customers at 2009 Pro pricing, and an additional 10% discount.
progeCAD 2010 Professional will offer:
- Read-write DWG 2010 files
- Improved Adobe PDF printing
- PDF layers
- 10x faster save time
- Create 2D profiles from solid models
- Windows 7-compatible
And if a free upgrade isn't good enuf, then just get the free version. progeCAD Smart 2009 is for non-business use only (Scout's honor!), and is due to be available "soon."
Actually, progeCAD Smart! is available today. Get a copy at iCADsales.com.
I wouldn't call the specials we have going right now a price cut, more of an opportunity for our customers and future customers to get a great deal on their upgrades to the next release coming soon. When progeCAD 2010 is released these specials will disappear.
As for the offer, current customers can pre-order their upgrades to 2010 for the same price as they would pay to upgrade currently, AND, they can take an additional 10% off. This provides some insurance against paying a higher price for upgrading to the new version.
New customers just purchasing progeCAD will get a free upgrade to 2010 when it is released. This just seems fair to customers, so that they don't buy a version today only to find out a new version is available tomorrow... Other great discounts are offered along with the 2010 offers detailed at the progeCAD 2010 coming soon page as well as more in depth explanations for those of you still bewildered by the news...
