Microsoft partner group manager Simon Aldous tells the truth: "What we’ve tried to do with Windows 7 –- whether it’s traditional format or in a touch format –- is create a Mac look and feel in terms of graphics."
Brandon LeBlanc of Windows Team Blog condemned the messenger, but did not deny the message. Notice how artfully he pretends to not know that the Mac OS has always predated Windows since day 1:
-- an inaccurate quote
-- a Microsoft employee who was not involved in any aspect of designing Windows 7
-- his comments were inaccurate and uninformed
And the Mr LeBlanc recommends reading stories written by the Associated Press, Wall Street Journal, and Fast Company -- all of them non-technical publications who probably felt the strong presence of Microsoft's pr firm guiding their thoughts.
All of which leads to the conclusion that Mr Aldous was right.
