Actually, Delcam did this first. PowerSHAPE-e models are encrypted and can't be exported, unless you pay. The cost is a lot more (IIRC ~$300), but I believe it includes the whole model, not just one drawing.

This is precisely along the lines of the idea of microtransactions that I discussed several months back. Similar to other online and offline applications it is inevitable that CAD developers will need to seek additional/alternative revenue streams.

In fact I better write the follow-up post that idea before someone announces it and I look like a poser!
