Avatech Solutions reports that Q2 revenues fell to $9.5 million, down from $12.9 million a year ago. Profits were negative at $223 thousand. Ceo George Davis says:
The design engineering markets and enterprises that we service remain fiscally challenged resulting in delays and interim reductions in the flow of the purchasing of technology and services that we provide.
Yesterday I heard that the governor of Washington state had expected "several billion" for infrastructure spending from the stimulus bill; now, only a half-billion is expected. Due to budget problems, California expects to shut down all government infrastructure spending, laying off 100,000 workers.
CAD vendors who were ramping up in expectation of much loot from the stimulus bill may want to tempter their expectations.
