Extranet Evolution is a thoughtful blog by Paul Wilkinson of the United Kingdom on advances in software for the construction industry. In his real life, Mr Wilinson is head of corporate communications for BIW Technologies, a software-as-a-service developer of business collaboration software and extranet systems.
On the one hand, there is that subtle promotion of his firm's offerings; on the other, he provides insights gained from being in the business, and he keeps BIW out of his blog for the most part.
The blog self-titles itself:
Construction, Collaboration and Technologies: From extranets to Web 2.0 and beyond -- (R)evolution in progress
Recent headlines of posts include:
- Recession and the construction SaaS providers
- Building webinar experience
- BIM, the project information cloud and an AEC 'Cluetrain'
- Windows to go cloudy?
- A SaaS code of conduct?
Hi, Ralph,
many thanks for the post and link to ExtranetEvolution.com.
The blog title arose from the subtitle of my 2005 book on what we used to call 'extranets', but my interests have expanded over the past three years, and despite being mainly based in the UK, I am keen to keep abreast of developments in the US (I was last in the US for a conference at Harvard in early 2006) and other markets (I'm off to Dubai on Sunday, for example).
And if you are ever in or near London, please let me know.
Best wishes, Paul
