Ralph, this is not quite accurate. Firstly, Acrobat opens a vast array of file formats including CATIA v5, NX etc, and includes the ability to create animations, markups, flash exports etc. The external program is part of the Acrobat extended suite and the integration between the two is pretty seamless. Also the suite lets you section, check physical data, extract geometric information, so in fact you cannot really compare the features of both Quadrispace Personal Edition and Acrobat Extended. A better comparison would be the Quadrispace suites which are considerably more expensive.

Also, the fact is these days many if not all MCAD and 3D systems let you export to 2D and 3D PDF direct from the application anyway, if that is what you need.
