What is the magic pixie dust that makes Synchronous Technology work in NX and Solid Edge? Evan Yares thinks it might be Geolus, the 3D part search technology also owned by Siemens PLM Software.
The issue in synchtech is that it needs to somehow recognize features so that it can automagically parameterize them. Siemens is keeping mum -- perhaps to maintain the competitive advantage -- so that opens up the field to speculation.
Hence, Mr Yares thinks Geolus is the foundation for the recognition engine. When Randall Newton opined similarly, Siemens spokeswoman Dora Smith denied it.
I figure that by keeping some parts of synctech secret, Siemens is successfully generating buzz at no marketing cost to itself.
