Dassault Systemes and nVidia teamed up to improve the quality of imaging during styling and digital mockups. It's nice that they're working on making simulations look more detailed, that better reflect the real world.
It'll be available in Dassault's Catia, Enovia, and Delmia software using nVidia's CgFX shaders and OpenGL. (Oops: did they say OpenGL? Wash your mouth with soap! "Close partner" Microsoft will not be pleased.)
But here's the part that always irks me: the way Dassault embeds its "everyone" spin in its press releases, as in:
...extend sophisticated shader technology to every user in the style and digital mock-up review processes...
Um, Earth to Dassault: 50% of the world's computers use graphics boards from ATi.
[end of rant]
But, mon ami, you do not mean to suggest that not everyone uses Dassault software?
