Is there a point to sending out press release that have headlines like these:
Ville de Saguenay, Quebec, Canada, Joins Bentley's Municipal License Subscription Program
City of Tilburg, Netherlands, Joins Bentley's Municipal License Subscription Program
City of Overbetuwe, Netherlands, Joins Bentley's Municipal License Subscription Program
Maybe someone could enlighten me as to who might be interested in reading about licensing -- customers? Competitors? Bentley executives? Certainly not the CAD media, at whom press releases are traditionally aimed.
Press releases like these reinforce the idea that the Municipal License Subscription Program has value. Perhaps they get read by comptrollers in other cities who say to themselves - "This looks like something our city needs." At Autodesk we sometimes have similar press releases that celebrate similar relationships with large customers - including municipalities.

It's another reflection of the changed role of the press release as a communicator to the public as a whole, not exclusively to the press any more.
I figure you can deal with it as long as your 'delete' button remains in working order on your PC.

I am not sure that press releases are aimed at the "CAD Media" This is designed to be read directly by customers and potential customers.
