Me, neither. But we have the good fortune of Tooling & Production Online ezine posting their synopsis of the day held at New York's Waldorf Astoria hotel. In Meeting the new UGS PLM Software, we learn:
Tony Affuso, chairman and CEO of UGS outlined Project Archimedes, although no definitive time frame was announced.
Project Archimedes will bring product design, development, and production together in what Affuso terms "use cases":
* Adaptive manufacturing.
* Virtual commissioning.
* Harmonized lifecycles.
* Hi-fi machining.
* Mechatronics.
Acronyms employed included CAM, PLM, and MES, but not CAD. When you think "Archimedes," what do you think of?
