A press release from UGS indicates it is the first "pure play PLM" company to enter Second Life, that sexually-loaded 3D virtual environment visited by four million addicts. Not sure what "pure play PLM" means; perhaps they've dumped CAD?
The UGS island is called "UGS Innovation Connection" and the company hopes the following will take place:
* Collaborate with customers and partners.
* Host virtual conferences.
* Experience solutions just as they are used every day.
The list reads a lot like TeamCenter, which has the advantage of presenting no danger from flying penises.
So, how would this be different then the Autodesk Island introduced at Autodesk university?

AFAIK the Autodesk Island is invite only and primarily for training. We are going to do training on our island, but are also open to letting customers build out their products in SL, having virtual conferences, etc. We are both experimenting with what SL will mean to our business, it's just our experiment is a little more accessible and public.

I can't believe I'm bothering to read a... what is this called?... a b-l-o-g?... on the sexually-loaded internet. Must be a waste of time.
