Cyco changes its name to BlueCielo ECM Solutions -- where "cielo" means sky in three Latin-derived languages. It's always fun to read why a company chooses an unusual name. Here is ex-Cyco's explanation:
Ceilo/sky - chosen because the sky connects people regardless of work culture, time or place.
Blue - combining multiple languages in the BlueCielo name demonstrates the company's ambition to remove barriers between people who speak different business languages within an organization (in the engineering and other departments) and connect them.
ECM - short for engineering change management.
The logo of the tiny-white-bird-in-square-blue-sky can be seen at the company's new URL: bluecieloecm.com. The software is also renamed, as follows:
* InnoCielo Meridian Enterprise
* InnoCielo TeamWork
* InnoCielo View
Sheesh. I thought car and drug names were getting silly. This one is really weird.

have they stated a reason for doing this?
At least as cyco they had a known brand name, if i heard the new one, all i'd ask was who.

I'm sure the marketing company that came up with the idea will make a lot of money out of the exercise.
Or mabey it shows a lack of faith in their own products....wanting to distance the new from whats already out there.

Maybe it's because they were tired of everyone calling them "Psycho Software?"
Even so, Cyco wasn't great but "BlueCielo ECM Solutions" is no bargain.
I honestly believe that it is not computers that are the biggest wasters of paper on the planet; it's marketing folks. I can only imagine the trees killed for new letterhead, signage, business cards, etc. because of this.
