Fortune magazine each year ranks the top 100 American companies, and this year the list contains a unusual item: a CAD software company. In the category of Computer Software, the top five companies were:
1. Intuit
2. Autodesk
3. Adobe Systems
4. Microsoft
5. Electronic Arts
Update
A week later, Autodesk notices:
Autodesk Ranked Second on Fortune's 2007 List of 'America's Most Admired Companies' in Computer Software Industry
Friday April 20, 8:30 am ET
How are they ranked? By balance sheet? By volume sales? By employee satisfaction? Rankings are always dubious in my opinion, especially since they involve statistics (the magical art of number manipulation)
