The Official Google Blog today announces the its Show us your university campus in 3D contest. The contest is what you might expect:
1. Model a school's set of campus buildings using SketchUp.
2. Stick 'em into Google Earth.
3. Submit the effort to the competition website. (US and Canada above-highschool only).
Deadline is 1 June. Judges include a couple of architects. Up to 50 winners get an all-expenses-paid 3-day trip to visit Google. All entries are used to fill up Google's Warehouse.
Great idea and could promote future technicians in the art of 3D modeling and design.
