Blogs are evil monsters that consume their creators and their consumers. Blog writers feel compelled to make new postings every day, while consumers feel ripped off when their favorite blogs haven't posted today yet -- even while they waste precious time reading too many blogs.
Autodesk is the most prolific of CAD vendors, running 19 blogs. Monday I checked to see how up to date they are. The last posting for each blog was dated, as follows:
Civil
* Wicked Cool Stuff - Nov 20.
* Plan It Autodesk - Nov 20
* The Dirt - Nov 27
* The Dave and Dan Civil 3D Show - Nov 7
MCAD
* Under the Hood - Sept 21
* In the Machine - Nov 22
* Manufacturing Community - Nov 14
* Drawing the Machine - Nov 24
* Controlling the Machine - Nov 13
Architectural
* Between the Walls - Nov 26
AutoCAD
* Lynn Allen's Blog - Nov 23
* Beyond the Paper - Nov 27
* Between the Lines - Nov 19
* AutoCAD Insider - Nov 27
Mapping
* Between the Poles - Nov 23
Non-CAD
* Area - Oct 6
* Mayalicious - Nov 12
* Maxed Out - Nov 14
* Dunca's Corner - Oct 17
* 3D Roadie - Nov 24
Programming
* Through the Interface - Nov 27
Good news: Autodesk bloggers keep up to date, for the most part:
- 11 are up to date (less than a week old).
- 5 are bordering on untimeliness (more than a week old).
- but 3 are as stale as moldy bread (more than month old).
