Tom Taulli writes for Motley Fool and in today's analysis has this to say about Another Model Quarter for Autodesk:
"With 3-D design, customers can engage in better modeling, since it is possible to do 'what-if' analysis with new designs. It is this sophisticated technology that helps Autodesk differentiate itself from tough competitors such as Parametric Technology..."
It's a good thing Autodesk recently introduced 3D, so that we are finally caught up with spreadsheet 'what-if' technology of the 1980s. We are no longer forced to rely on unsophisticated, 2D-only, non-parametric software from Parametric Technology -- at least, according to Mr Taulli.
(Be still my aching stomach... aching from the laughter.)
Too funny....lol.....if anything, the opposite if true...Autodesk was prettty much the last one on board.

Tom Taulli's light relief; considering Autodesk have been promoting and selling 3D products for (soon to be) 20 years maybe the questions analysts should be asking is; why have you (Autodesk)misunderstood the real requirements of your customers for so long? Could it be that Autodesk management only listen to themselves and those that agree with them. Not as they should those that dare to provide constructive criticism.
