After Autodesk bought the Mechanical software from Genius in 1998, the company continued its work in Europe. Last week, Waldemar Lastowski, the ceo of GeniusMechaniCS Software Technologies GmbH, alerted me that the software has been resurrected: "There are always some crazy people and companies trying something new -- or the same once again."
Genius Mechanics runs on AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD and Inventor. In another stab at Autodesk, SolidWorks is hosting a link to the software, now made free (until Dec 24, and on AutoCAD only). At DWGgateway, scroll down for the Genius is Back ad -- or just go directly to the registration and download page.
No price listed. Can you or they enlighten us?
