(Updated.) The Thomson Learning division of ITP is up for sale. The division produces educational books and includes the Autodesk Press imprint. (A number of my books are published by Thomson.)
Thomson, a Canadian corporation, is one of the largest publishers in the world. In recent years, they began the switchover to electronic publishing and data sales, typified by Thomson Financial. Because of the market resistance in switching paper-based educational texts to digital formats, Thomson decided to find another owner for the division.
Update
Thomson does not have a buyer yet. It is not likely to be another publisher, but an investment firm, and the process may take a half-year or more.
