ISO Standard for Finding Unauthorized Software

Colin Barker of CNET News.com reports that the International Standards Organization now has a standard for companies to determine what software they are using. It was promoted by Business Software Alliance, of which several CAD companies are members.

The article notes that standard ISO/IEC 17990-1 helps determine if companies are using software illegally -- at least those that want to know. Most likely there are companies that don't want to know.
