Tailoring Visual Styles is another in my series of mini e-books about AutoCAD -- just 74 pages but illustrated with 130 figures.
AutoCAD 2007 has a new feature called "visual styles" that involves dozens and dozens of options, some of which are practically undocumented by Autodesk -- like how to set up backgrounds and work with ground shadows.
This brand-new PDF book has chapters on how to use visual styles in the tool palette, the new Dashboard, the new Visual Styles palette, and the new Visual Styles toolbar. There's a tutorial on creating a specific visual style, and a second tutorial on integrating it into a toolbar. Two appendices list all related commands and system variables, and list the model numbers of compatible graphics boards.
The PDF book is available now for US$11.10 (delivered by email) or $16.10 on CD by postal mail. There are sample pages and the table of contents at upfrontezine.com/tvs -- and you can order it from there, too.
