FLEXlm is used by many CAD vendors, and the old GLOBEtrotter folks behind FLEXlm are back, reports Jimmy Bergmark. I am not an avid follower of license-control software, so I asked Mr Bergmark to elaborate:
"FLEXlm has been used to handle Autodesk network licenses since AutoCAD 2002 as well as most other vendors like AVEVA, PTC, etc. It is kind of the de facto standard for handling licenses. Their service through Microvision is quite expensive for vendors to use. Their license report solution is really expensive as well. (The last in one of the reasons why I created JTB FlexReport). Globetrotter sold to Microvision 5 years ago and now they are allowed to enter this business again."
I believe that's "Macrovision", fyi...

A better alternative is to look into License Statistics. It's a new inexpensive solution which can do alot more then JTB and works with multiple license vendors.
Also it requires no software installed as it creates webpages. Besides you can get email alerts on various actions like when servers go down or licenses are used for too long.
