Fortunately, Autodesk is more concerned with installing the best-qualified person as the new CEO than following the whim of a general business columnist.

Having met Carl Bass at several COFES events, I have little doubt that he is the best man (or woman) for the job at Autodesk. His breadth of understanding of the market, and his business savvy is excellent. Plus - and this is a big plus - he manages to handle Martyn Day at least some of the time...that racks him up to an even higher level :)
