Does any one know the truth if Santa was ever real or are you just guessing he might be.

The English name "Santa Claus" comes from the Dutch "Sinter Klaus" which is derived from "Saint Nicolas," who was a real person. You can read more about him here: stnicholascenter.org.

Families from Northern Europe still celebrate Saint Nicolas Day (Dec 6), where children leave out their shoes, which are filled with candies and small gifts during the night.
