ICEM is a British firm that specializes in software for designing the exterior and interiors of automobiles. Their software works with CATIA from Dassault Systemes of France, and is used by Ford, DaimlerChrysler, Volkswagen Audi, Porsche, BMW, Peugeot Citroën, Renault, and Nissan. (Missing from the list: GM, Honda, Toyota, etc.)
Last week, ICEM announced a five-year plan to give automobile manufacturers a heads-up on what to expect -- and perhaps keep the new Alias-Autodesk sales force at bay. Planned features include:
- More integration between CATIA V5 and ICEM software.
- New surface modelling, surface validation, and design visualisation software with Class A surface design and engineering for design development and surface engineering.
- ICEM Surf surface modeler, surface quality analysis, and design visualisation software will be enhanced.
- Added emphasis on consulting and customer services.
