After 12 acquistiions last year and 7 this, Bentley's revenue are up from US$304 million (2004) to $350 million (this year). That's an increase of 15%.
"We can achieve 10 to 15 percent growth for many years to come, I believe," says Bentley ceo Greg Bentley in an article posted by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Bentley has 2/3 of its customers on subscription. Staff writer Peter Key notes that, "Companies with a subscription model can't grow as rapidly as those with a sales model can when things are going well, but they don't go in the tank when things aren't." Perhaps we'll see companies switching their marketing emphasis away from subscriptions when the CAD industry hits another of its cyclical slowdowns.
