Robert (Bob) Mayer last Thursday resigned from the Board of Directors of IMSI (International Microcomputer Software, Inc.) "to focus his attention on a potential transaction with the company."
No official word on what that transaction will be. Mr. Mayer is also executive vp of Precision Design division (ie, TurboCAD software).
With IMSI's new direction to set top broadcasting with their recent acquisition/merger, TurboCAD definitely does not fit into their strategic plans. My guess is that Mayer is looking to either spin off the software from IMSI in some kind of buyout, or sell the whole division to another company. But, who might buy it is interesting. Keep tuned.
