The big Service Pack 1 that fixes lots and lots of bugs (we hope) is now available to AutoCAD 2006 and LT 2006 users. To install the pack, you need to have the orginal installation CD sitting in your computer's CD drive.
Although there is some info at "ftp://liveupdate.autodesk.com/LiveUpdate/autocad/enu/readme_autocad_2006_sp1.htm, it is surprisingly sparse. There is some detail, including for the eight areas that were causing crashes, but nearly half of the list is no more detailed than this:
As a result detailed information from customers who used the Customer Error Reporting Utility, a number of problems were identified and fixed. Updates have been made in the following feature areas.
Hopefully more details will be forthcoming. I'm currently writing about the Customize User Interface feature; the readme doesn't list any fixes to the bugs I've encountered. A Service Pack 2 may be warranted.
Update
One fatal error not listed as corrected in Service Pack 1 is this: In the Cui dialog box, select Keyboard Shortcuts, and then click the Print button. Crashes AutoCAD every time. And yup, I've reported it multiple times to Autoesk's error collection service.
