Dassult Systemes reported Tuesday on its Q2 revenue: e217.3 million, up from from e192.5 million a year ago. Over at its SolidWorks subsiduary, revenue was up 32% in U.S. dollars. 8157 seats new CATIA seats were licensed in Q2; SolidWorks seats were increased by 32% to 9,598 new licenses in the quarter.

- Service and other revenue: e36.4 million
Americas = up 41% in constant currencies
Europe = up 18%
Asia = down 14%
For the full year, Dassault projects revenues of e910-915 million [US$1.16 billion].
Dassault Takes Over Sales from IBM
Dassalt continues to take over sales from IBM, or as the press release puts it, "announced plans to expand DS's role as PLM [product lifecycle management software] channel manager for SMB [small and medium size businesses]."
Dassault now runs sales in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Monaco, United States, Germany, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Russia, and the CIS [former USSR] countries. In China, the software is sold through CAXA.
Latest Acquisition
Dassault acquires Paris-based Virtools SA for e12 million in cash. "Virtools' applications allow users not familiar with 3D modeling to quickly and easily add life experience to any 3D model."
