Even though Autodesk abandoned Actrix some years ago, there are still corporations using it. Well, at least one that I heard of. An engineer at a large manufacturing company wrote me last week:
I know that Actrix has been passed over by Autodesk, but it appears that our company has been able to procure usage of the application for our inhouse diagramming needs.
He was wondering how to program the right-click popup menu to select commonly-used commands. I did a bit of research, and it appeared this might be possible using VBA. But it turned out he didn't have any customization documentation:
The "redesigned" manual only covers our basic commands and application structure.
Anyone else still using Actrix?
Some of the Actrix technology migrated into AutoCAD 2006's dynamic blocks. In Actrix, you needed to write VBA programs to customize dynamic blocks; in AutoCAD 2006, Autodesk has done a remarkable job in making the entire process visual. No programming, just drag'n drop.
I think I do know which company you're talking about: I use actrix everyday, and I'd love to have the posibility of customize it and just implement some useful mouse functions (like "pan") that right now are seen on every software out there... Do you have a programming manual or something?
Best regards,
Hernan.
