Reading about the new Batman movie (no, I'm not a fan, and have seen only bits of the Batman movie franchise), it's interesting to note that the director decided against computer graphics. Quoting the Telegraph newspaper:
"For a director working in the fantasy genre, it was a brave decision by Nolan largely to eschew that increasingly de rigueur ingredient of mega-bucks productions -- computer-generated imagery. He says that, for a film of its size, Batman Begins probably holds the record for fewest CG shots, and he resisted suggestions that the Batmobile should be digital, building instead a "real" one weighing two and a half tons."
It's not that CG is wrong; it's that CG becomes a substitute for a great story line.
