What I like about ASCII is that you know what it wil look like. None of that fancy formatting stuff that might or might not make it through.
Like this email I received this week from a pr person. (I've left out the identifying features to spare Karen the embarassment, and I've replaced the angle brackets by square ones, becuase they confuse this HTML editor.)

Which leaves me wondering, what is supposed to be between those brackets? And why do the tags call themselves "smart"?
