Some more interesting features in the EX-Z30 digital camera from Casio:
Triple self-timer - counts down ten seconds, and then take three pictures in a row.
3:2 mode - takes pictures with a 3:2 aspect ratio (instead of the 4:3 favored by computer devices). The resolution is 2048x1360 (instead of x1536). The top and bottom 88 pixels are ignored. I realized the other benefit to this mode is that pictures are 11% smaller, meaning the camera can store 11% more pictures. Thus 434 photos instead of 390 on a 256MB memory card.
Calender view - displays a calendar on the LCD screen. For any day on which pictures were taken, the first image of the day appears on that date.
Voice Recording Mode - turns camera into a digital sound recorder (in addition to adding sound notes to photos).
Onscreen grid - shows the 1/3 points to aid composition.
Image Flip - when playing back pictures on the 2" LCD screen, press the Set button, and the images are flipped by 180 degrees.
Image Roulette - displays images randomly by first showing all images rapidly, and then slowing down.
Resize and Crop - when images are resized (smaller) and cropped, the camera creates a new image file, preserving the old one. The bad news is that photos taken in 3:2 aspect ratio cannot be resized or cropped.
