One of our other jobs around upFront.eZine Publishing is putting out a series of e-books for CAD users. A best seller last year was What's Inside? AutoCAD 2005 and so this year we rewrote it and added another edition:
What's Inside? AutoCAD 2006 is a PDF e-book with 96 full-color pages detailing _all_ the new features in AutoCAD 2006 -- including those not documented by Autodesk. Content includes:
· Executive overview, plus Autodesk's roadmap of future releases.
· 43 new commands and 56 new system variables.
· Changes to 40+ existing commands.
· Undocumented commands.
· Important details users should know about the license.
· New temporary override keys, shortcut keystrokes, and file types.
· Accurate to Rio beta 4.
What's Inside? AutoCAD LT 2006 is similar, but with 76 pages specific to LT 2006. There is an extra section describing what's not in LT.
People have been buying this book since Monday, one customer bought four copies for his co-workers. Another inquired about getting 61 copies for training purposes. For this reason, these e-books are also available with library and corporate pricing, which allows copying within the origanization.
