MobileMag.com notices that a new camera from four different companies looks almost exactly the same and has identical specs:
Konica Minolta DiMAGE E50
Minox DC 5222
Premier DC
Rollei Prego dp5200
The site figures that a third-party company designed and manufactured the 5.2-megapixel camera, and then shopped it around -- with four companies picking it up, and putting on their brand names. I do like the 2.5" LCD screen.
I think this is a sign of the desparation of lower-tier digital camera vendors to stay in business. It's a lot cheaper to buy the design off another company, and then just slap on your logo (and customize the firmware.)
