Some international CAD companies, like Dassault Systemes, have a large percentage of their sales in the USA. For them, the difference in currency value has an effect on their accounting. DS, for instance, provides parallel financial reports: one with currency fluxuation left out, another with fluxuation included.
It makes for harder but more accurate reading. With the recent plummeting of the US dollar, it may be a good idea for US-based CAD firms with large international sales to start doing the same thing. For instance, Autodesk's Q3 finances were spectacular -- but I saw no reference to the weak US$ "artificially" boosting income from outside-of-USA operations, where software tends to be overpriced already.
