DigiTimes has a summary table of all the different kinds of memory cards. (One is missing: CompactFlash Type II.)
The table accompanies an article describing another new memory card format: μcard, which is short for "micro card."
Why a new format? Reading between the lines, it looks like Taiwanese hardware manufacturers don't want to pay royalties to the organizations that invented the other formats, such as CompactFlash, SecureDigital, and MemoryStick.
Those of us who use the Canon S1iS only need to know about one memory card: CompactFlash.
