It's about time.
Benq (a.k.a. Acer) is the first with a camera whose LCD screen is touch sensitive -- like a PalmPilot. The press release is a bit vague, but it appears that the screen lets you select menu options. You can also select from a variety of photo frames -- not new to the Benq, and a feature I consider useless.
The emphasis, however, is on doing things not otherwise possible, such as writing notes on the pictures (called "scrawling"), or signing photos with autographs. I wonder (a) how large is the screen upon which we write; (2) what do we use to write with, a fingernail?; and (3) the resolution of the touch screen -- how coarse does the writing look? All unknown, because the camera is not yet listed at Benq's Web site.
For some reason, Benq thinks that a camera with a red case and a touch-sensitive screen is meant for females. "The E40 is now available for fun, fearless females."

Will portable keyboards be the next add-on to digital cameras?
