Nilay Patel goes on to say, just kidding! OTOH, "A quick count amongst Engadget eds reveals at least 10 broken Canon digicams... and we know we're not outside the curve -- have you felt our pain?"
The item also notes that Canon's first digital camera was the PowerShot 600 in 1996, and that the company has now sold a hundred million digital cameras.
